Bostrom Seating builds commercial vehicle seats for the drivers who spend their working lives in them. Every seat is made in Piedmont, Alabama, and our full truck seating line covers long-haul sleeper cabs, regional day cabs, and vocational trucks.
Commercial truck seats are grouped by the work the truck does, not the badge on the hood. Drivers who live in the cab need the widest adjustment range and the most support, which is where the Wide Ride+ and Wide Ride Core sit. Regional and standard highway work is covered by the Pro Ride, the Patriot SD, and the T-Series. Vocational and severe-duty trucks – dump, mixer, refuse, and construction – take a shorter-travel seat built for dirt and constant entry and exit. The Baja series covers that end.
The full catalog of heavy-duty truck seats is organized by model, alongside seat suspensions for rebuilds, fitting kits and adapter plates cut for specific OEM cabs, and replacement seat parts.
Fit comes first. Searching every dealership only to find a seat will not mount in your cab is all too common. Start with the vehicle finder – enter make, model, and year, and the catalog narrows to what fits. Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, International, Western Star, and Mack cabs each carry their own mounting patterns, and where a seat does not bolt straight in, an adapter plate closes the gap.
Air suspension carries most highway work because it isolates road input over long hours. Where shop air is not available, a seat with a built-in compressor is simpler, and vocational trucks want shorter travel and a lower base.
Comfort features are worth the spend when the driver is in the seat all day. Once you have the part number, compare seats side by side and check pricing and availability through our Where to Buy portal.
Bostrom has built seating since 1935, so we have more than 90 years of experience in the industry.
Our seats are expertly designed and tested in-house. Bostrom also supplies truck manufacturers with original equipment, bringing the same engineering expertise and rigorous quality standards to every aftermarket seat. Bostrom is part of Commercial Vehicle Group, and seats reach the field through a nationwide dealer network.
Air suspension does the structural work, absorbing the vertical input the chassis passes through the cab before it reaches the driver’s spine. Travel and damping are matched to the application.
Lumbar support is critical. Fixed lumbar helps, but continuous passive motion helps more. BackCycler, available on select models, cycles the lumbar slowly through the day so the lower back keeps moving – the research behind it ran ten years at the University of Vermont. Heated and ventilated cushions matter more than the spec sheet suggests, since a driver who is not fighting the cab temperature is paying attention to the road.
Durability shows up on the balance sheet. A class 8 truck seat takes thousands of entry and exit cycles a year, and commercial truck driver seats wear at the bolster long before anything mechanical fails. Upholstery, foam density, and frame construction decide whether a commercial truck seat is still worth sitting in at year five.
